FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Ethics Commission has dismissed a complaint of bullying filed against the vice mayor of Fort Smith.
The commission on Friday dismissed the complaint filed by former Fort Smith Animal Services Advisory Board member Cheryl Gilmore against Vice Mayor Kevin Settle.
Settle is also a member of the board.
Ethics Commission Executive Director Graham Sloan told the Southwest Times Record (http://bit.ly/QtMIFe ) that even if the allegation were proven - there is no law requiring the commission to force public servants to behave in a civil manner.
Gilmore served as chairwoman of the Animal Services Advisory Board until she resigned in July. She said in her resignation letter that Settle was attempting to do away with the advisory board.
