LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) Arkansas First Lady Ginger Beebe reads to a group of youngsters as part of a family literacy celebration. 

The Central Arkansas Library System and the Reading is Fundamental program teamed up for the event. The two-hour workshop took a look at early childhood education and how it's linked with Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics.

First Lady Beebe also read two stories to the little Arkansans. Today, the kids picked two books to take home. Last year alone, Reading Is Fundamental distributed more than 126,000 books.
