UNDATED (Yahoo!) -- A statue of the Buddah brought to Europe by the Nazis before the second World War was carved out of a meteorite.

The meteorite likely landed on Earth 10,000 years ago along the Siberia-Mongolia border.

The age of the statue, also known as "iron man", is unknown, but it is estimated between the eighth and 10th centuries. The statue depicts the Buddha holding something in his left hand, and the Buddhist swastika, a sign of good luck that was adopted by the Nazi party.

Nazi party zoologist and ethnology Ernst Schäfer brought the statue back to Germany between 1938-1939 after an expedition to Tibet. He was sent by the Nazi party to discover the roots of Aryan origin.
