UNDATED (CNN) -- Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's autobiography, "Total Recall," hits bookshelves today. Ahead of its release, he opened up about the highs and lows of his life, including a number of affairs including one with his maid that resulted in a son, in an interview with CBS's "60 Minutes."
Arnold Schwarznegger admits in his book and to "60 minutes" he had an affair with his co-star in 1985's "Red Sonja" Brigitte Nielsen. It happened while he was in a relationship Maria Shriver, who later became his wife. Was that the only affair? Schwarzenegger says, "No. I had others. But I mean, it's something that's obviously between Maria and me."
The former California governor, bodybuilder and movie star has also admitted to an affair with his family's longtime housekeeper, Mildred Baena. He says he suspected he was the father of her son when the boy was around seven or eight. Schwarzenegger says, "It just appeared to me something was off, that he started looking like me, that's when I sort of got it, that it was never discussed but I put the things together here."
He says Shriver confronted him about it during a counseling session. He says, "She then said hey, I think Joseph is your kid and am I off here on this or not? And I said you're absolutely correct."
Shriver filed for divorce last year. Schwarzenegger also reflected on his failings. He says, "It's always there."
A spokesman for Shriver says she will not be giving a response to the "60 Minutes" interview.
