WASHINGTON (CBS) -- Secretary Clinton says it's important to encourage foreign tourism to the U.S., to help people see the U.S. firsthand instead of distorted pictures given by U.S. critics.

Speaking to the Global Travel and Tourism conference, Clinton outlined steps the State Department has taken to make travel to the U.S. more friendly to foreign nationals. One day after wrapping up a visit to NY for the UN General Assembly, Clinton joked that her one wish would be that more tourists knew how to use their cameras.

"Whenever I walk around New York," Clinton said, "I am greeted by people from all over the world. Most of whom want to take a picture.I don't mind if they just can figure out how to use their cameras."
