CHICAGO, IL (CBS/WBBM) -- Some protesters showed up outside Congressman Jesse Jackson Junior's office today to voice their displeasure with Jackson's absence from the House of Representatives.

Jackson took an unexpected leave of absence from the job in June.

Since then, it's come out that he was treated for bipolar disorder at the Mayo Clinic.

He was released from the clinic about a month ago but hasn't been to his congressional office in Washington and hasn't campaigned in his Chicago district.

Jackson is trying to sell his Washington, D-C home in order to help pay medical bills.

Protesters in Chicago chanted slogans and held signs calling for Jackson's resignation, saying he's AWOL and missing in action.
