  • LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - In Little Rock Sunday morning, the cold weather didn't stop some people from walking to benefit Autism research.

The goal was to raise more than a $100,000 for research and advocacy work. Organizers say Arkansans show outstanding community support for the cause. The event funds local grants and gives Arkansas families the chance to meet and hear of resources in the area.

"This is my second time out there for the Autism awareness walk," said Lakin Armstrong, whose brother has autism. "We've been really involved since we found out he was diagnosed with autism."

THV's Craig O'neill and Ed Buckner were the emcees of the event.
