Matt Turner, a beloved member of the THV family and Arkansas community, passed away after a car wreck Saturday night.
Though he was a news anchor, Matt had a deep passion for sports, in particular the Razorbacks, and spent much of his career following and covering sports across the state of Arkansas.
Jeff Long, the Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics for the University of Arkansas, sent THV the following note on Sunday:
"I am shocked and deeply saddened by the news of Matt Turner's passing. He was one of the great guys in TV news. Matt was a respected television journalist, passionate Razorback fan and most importantly a dedicated husband and father. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Turner family, his colleagues at THV and KNWA and his many friends throughout our state."
Matt is survived by his wife Julee, 10-month-old daughter Preslee, mother Lisa, and brother Andy.
