LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Legislators from the Central Arkansas region will gather Tuesday to discuss making the state's communities healthier, particularly when it comes to tobacco use.

They are having a pre-session forum to discuss ways to educate citizens on tobacco use and ways to prevent it.

"When the general assembly convenes in February, we want lawmakers to be armed with the necessary information to continue championing causes that will lead to healthier Arkansans," Joyce Raynor with Women's Council on African American Affairs (WCAAA) said.

WCAAA is partnering with the Coalition for a Tobacco Free Arkansas, We Care of Pulaski County, Family Service Agency, In His Image Child Development Center, Asian Pacific Resource and Cultural Center, and the Arkansas Human Development Corporation to host the event.

The forum is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce.
