LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - A Little Rock high school student is arrested and charged as an adult from an armed robbery in the area.
Cassandra Davis with the Little Rock Police Dept. said officers suspect Deshaun Rushing of at least one armed robbery at an ATM. The first reported incident happened on Sept. 11th, when officers responded to the Regions Bank located at 10124 North Rodney Parham Road. The victim said two men, one with a handgun, ordered him to put in his pin to get money. The suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of money.
On Sept. 28th, officers responded to the same Regions Bank location, where another man said two men with a handgun approached him and demanded money from the machine. The suspects ran off with an undisclosed amount of money.
That same night, officers identified one of the suspects from the robbery earlier that day as Rushing, 16, who is a student at Hall High School.
On Oct. 12th, officers were patrolling the area around that Regions Bank when they saw a man approach another man, put a gun to his head and demand money. This incident happened in the nearby parking lot of the now-closed El Chico's restaurant. The detectives identified themselves, ordered the suspect to drop the gun, but the suspect ran off. Shortly later, officers located Rushing at 1400 Old Forge Road, #2201.
Rushing was taken to the Major Crimes Division, where he was subsequently charged with one count of aggravated robbery, one count of theft of property, and was charged as an adult. He was then transported to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.
Detectives identified a second suspect in the above cases and additional charges are expected after further investigation.
