SHERWOOD, Ark. (KTHV) - A shooting in Sherwood led to a high-speed chase through North Little Rock Thursday afternoon.
Lt. Carl Minden with Pulaski County Sheriff's Dept. said a man was shot in the arm and chest at 2109 Batesville Pike in Sherwood. When officers arrived on scene, they saw the suspect leaving and followed him.
This pursuit resulted in a high-speed chase along Broadway St. in North Little Rock. Officers chased the suspect over Highway 70, where they caused the suspect to crash through a fence in order to end the chase. The car landed in a used car lot, KB Trucks and Cars located at 10228 Highway 70, and hit parked cars a long the way.
The owner of that car lot, Kenneth Brockinton, says he had just closed up shop when the chase ended at his business.
"I just locked the door at the office and went over to watch the news. It was about 5:15, 5:10 and I seen a trooper in my picture window make a u-turn right out in front of my house," recalls Brockinton. "I came out to see what's going on and that's when all this unfolded and this little red car had come in and hit two of my cars, went through my fence."
Officers later determined the suspect's car had been stolen from a home on Antler Way.
The suspect was hurt in the wreck and was taken to a hospital. The shooting victim was also taken to an area hospital for treatment.
As of late Thursday night, Minden said charges are pending against the suspect, as the investigation is not complete.
