LONOKE, Ark. (KTHV) - The Lonoke County Sheriff's Office is investigating a case of tuberculosis at the county jail.
Sheriff Jim Roberson and Ed Barum with the Arkansas Department of Health are looking into the case. While there is only one case of TB at the jail, Barum said it is not uncommon to investigate a case if it occurs at a school, business or jail.
He said the disease is not as deadly as it has been in the past and health departments are better equipped to treat cases now than in years before.
