LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Little Rock police is partnering up with the Yellow Cab taxi service to fight crime.

Mayor Mark Stodola, Police Chief Stuart Thomas and Yellow Cab of Little Rock President Ellis Houston will announce today a program new to our community called Taxis On Patrol (TOPS). TOPS is a "neighborhood watch on wheels" program.

The purpose of TOPS is to train taxi drivers to report crimes or suspicious activities they may witness to dispatchers who will record the information and report it to the appropriate public safety official.

TOPS has seen success in other cities such as Denver Colorado. In that community, a cab driver provided information that led to the arrest in a hit and run accident.
