FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Officials say a drug court in northwest Arkansas is expected to receive nearly $1 million in grant money over the next three years.
Judge G. Chadd Mason and other officials announced the grant Monday for the drug court in Washington and Madison counties. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration grant will go toward improving and expanding treatment and recovery services.
Mason says the majority of people who have drug and alcohol problems have other underlying issues. He says the Washington and Madison counties' drug court program takes that into consideration and takes a holistic approach to treating people.
The drug court is expected to receive $325,000 per year for three years.
