LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AHTD) -- The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department will have to close a couple of lanes to get some work done next week.
Crews doing concrete pavement patching on Interstate 40 in West Memphis will require a lane closure next week, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
The improvements will require the westbound, center lane to be closed in the area of Southland Park beginning Sunday, October 28th at approximately 7:00 p.m. The lane will remain closed through Thursday, November 1st as the concrete cures, weather permitting.
In addition, the westbound inside lane will be closed on Sunday night, October 28th and Monday night, October 29th. The inside lane will be closed from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. each night.
Crews performing a routine bridge inspection on Highway 7, over Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, will require lane closures beginning next week, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
The bridge inspection will require alternating lane closures of the northbound and southbound lanes beginning Monday, October 29th and continuing through Wednesday, October 31st. The lane closures will be in effect between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each day, weather permitting.
Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
