BATON ROUGE, LA (CNN, WBRZ) - A babysitter in Louisiana is under arrest after allegedly leaving a baby in a plastic container.
Police were called to an apartment where authorities say the child was found in a container, crying, and sitting in soiled diaper.
The infant's grandmother was on her way to visit some friends when she had an idea her grandchild was home alone. She drove to the locked apartment where she heard a baby crying. She then alerted the apartment manager.
The container was large enough to prevent the infant from getting out, and police started looking for 26-year-old Shareese Renee Joseph who regularly watches the infant.
Cops found Joseph 15 blocks from the apartment at a store. Authorities say she won't be babysitting for a long time.
"We found signs of marijuana inside," says Cpl. L'Jean McKneely.
This is the second time she's been cited for drugs.
