SEARCY, Ark. (KTHV) - A man stabbed several times at a VFW post in Searcy is expected to make a full recovery.
White County Sheriff's Office says they were called to the Searcy Veterans of Foreign Wars club early Sunday morning about a fight that turned into a stabbing.
During the fight, police say Jesse Chatman, 33 of Searcy, allegedly stabbed a Conway man 12 times with a switchblade-style knife.
Authorities say Chatman turned himself in later that day claiming he was acting in self-defense.
The victim was taken to the White County Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. Chatman is being held on unrelated warrants for failure to pay fines.
The investigation is ongoing.
