CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - Two Arkansas men are facing charges in southeast Missouri after police say the stolen car they were in intentionally drove into a group of joggers, injuring three of them.
The Southeast Missourian reports that the incident happened Sunday morning in Cape Girardeau. The victims suffered bumps and bruises. One of them is Ron Rosati, provost at Southeast Missouri State University.
Police declined to disclose a possible motive. The suspects, 19-year-old Vincent Anderson of Little Rock, Ark., and 27-year-old Marcus Jones of Cotton Plant, Ark., are both jailed.
Police say Anderson was driving a 1994 Ford Thunderbird that was reported stolen moments before the joggers were struck. Rosati says the car cut across lanes and came directly at the joggers.
