SCOTT COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - Our affiliate KFSM reports that a Mena man is in the hospital after he allegedly led authorities in Scott County on a high-speed chase twice in the same day.
KFSM reports that Robert Perry was wanted on outstanding warrants for drug charges and was stopped around 1:15 Tuesday afternoon. Authorities say Perry then sped away, giving authorities reason to place a road block and spike strip on Highway 71 which in-turn caused his vehicle to blow out a tire.
Authorities tell KFSM that the chase kept going for about a mile until Perry finally stopped and after a brief struggle, he was taken into custody and then to a hospital to be checked out. KFSM reports, however, that Perry later slipped away from the hospital, forced a woman out of her vehicle, and began a second chase with authorities on Highway 28.
