UCA Sweeps SLC Golfer of the Month honors

CONWAY, Ark. (UCA) -- The University of Central Arkansas swept the Southland Conference Golfer of the Month awards for the second time this season Wednesday as senior Julia Roth and sophomore Pep Angles took home the October awards.

Roth, a senior from Karlskrona, Sweden, was runnerup in two tournaments in October and had a 72.6 stroke average for her six rounds. She led UCA to a 16-stroke victory at the ASU Red Wolf Classic in Jonesboro on Oct. 15-16, shooting a 2-under 214 (72-69-73). She tied for second at the Fed Ex Memphis Intercollegiate on Oct. 22-23, shooting 75-72-75_222.

Angles, from San Andres de Llavaneras, Spain, had a second-place finish at the Louisiana Tech Jim Rivers Intercollegiate, shooting 67-71-69 for a 9-under 207 as UCA won the 14-team tournament.

At the UTSA/Lone Star Invitational, Angles tied for sixth place (69-73-74_216). For the month, he averaged 70.5.

Roth and Angles were also Southland Golfers of the Month for September.
