FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - This week, THV 11's partners at Arkansas Business Publishing Group announced the shut-down of one of their sites, ArkansasSports360.com.
According to a blog post by editor Chris Bahn on the popular sports website, ABPG made the decision in an effort to focus on reallocating its resources to focus on its core brand.
Bahn wrote, "ArkansasSports360.com has been highly read and boasts the most engaged social media audience at ABPG. Unfortunately, ABPG was unable to generate the amount of revenue to keep the site going."
Bahn told readers that after the site closes Friday at 11:59 p.m., all articles from its launch in 2007 will still be searchable as part of ArkansasBusiness.com's archive.
THV 11's affiliate in northwest Arkansas KFSM spoke with their media partner Bo Mattingly of "Sports Talk with Bo" who said, "You've got consumers that take it in, but it's been very difficult to get advertisers to go to the digital media and have enough of them to really make your business work."
