GARLAND COUNTY, Ark. (KTHV) - Following a dispute with his daughter, a Garland County man has gone missing, according to police.

Lt. James Martin said Hershel Winningham, 53, went missing around noon Monday after a verbal disagreement with his daughter. Martin said he had gotten mad and walked away from the home and into a field heading north toward the Andrew Hulsey Fish Hatchery.

Winningham had apparently been involved in a car accident about two weeks ago which had left him with head injuries and diminished capacities, said Martin.

After being unable to find him, officers sent out a Mounted Patrol to search an approximate 3.5 to 4 square mile area in the direction he was last seen walking, added Martin.

Winningham may have found a ride into town and is safe, but police are erring on the side of caution to make sure he is safe. If anyone has seen Winningham, they are asked to call the Garland County Sheriff's Department at (501) 622-3660.

Winningham is not wanted for any crime and is only being sought for his well-being.

Police did not give an immediate description of his appearance but did provide a photo, which is attached to this story.
