Fleeing suspect hits patrol unit with car

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) - A suspect in a breaking or entering case tried to flee from police and struck a patrol unit in the process.

According to Cpl. McCrary Means, officers were checking out a suspicious, white Honda Civic that matched the description of a vehicle involved in a breaking or entering earlier that night.

Means said the suspect got into the vehicle and fled while hitting a patrol unit in the process; he later crashed in a wooded area.

Deputies from the Garland County Sheriff`s Office along with officers from the Hot Springs Police Department were able to take him into custody.

Police did not say how much damage was dealt to the patrol unit.
