It all began in 2000. Joel was living in Sherwood when he landed a spot on CBS' first ever Survivor. Over 50 million people watched him compete to become a millionaire. But he was voted out right before the two tribes merged.
Still the show thrust him into the spotlight and made him an overnight celebrity with guest appearances on shows like Baywatch and Nash Bridges. He’s even done some movies.
So where is Joel Klug now? Well he's settling in to his most important role yet.
He says, "I have a four month old son named Jayden and Anita and I live in LA, she's a stunt woman out here and we're very happy with him, he's a happy, healthy, great little guy. It’s been quite a ride, done movies, TV, started a couple companies but now I work in the packaging industry and I also started a bicycle company."
You may remember, Joel became good friends with fellow survivor Gervase. He still keeps in touch with him. And while he doesn't get to watch it very often anymore, he says if he was ever asked to do the show again he would.
And here's something interesting, you know how there's a jury and they end up deciding the winner during the final tribal council meeting, Joel says that was his idea.
