Hot Springs, Ark. (KTHV) -- Treat yourself at The Savory Pantry's tasting of Sallie's Greatest Herbal Fruit Jams from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the store, 214 Central Avenue in Hot Springs on Saturday, May 12.
Sallie's Greatest is the creation of Cameron, South Carolina native Sallie Dent Porth, who in 2004, left corporate life to return to her South Carolina roots. She soon began creating jams from the freshest produce possible and herbs from her own garden. Sallie is bringing her creations to Hot Springs' The Savory Pantry, the specialty artisan food purveyor offering gourmet foods for professional chefs and casual cooks everywhere.
The tasting is free and open to the public. Attendees can expect to taste unique jams such as Blueberry & Lavender; Fig, Sweet Onion & Rosemary; Strawberry & Basil; and Peach, Pepper & Ginger.
"We met Sallie at the International Fancy Food Show last summer, and immediately fell in love - with Sallie and her line of fruit and herb jams," said Keeley DeSalvo, owner of The Savory Pantry.
"Sallie is a true artisan - one twist of the lid and you'll understand why we will never be without these unique jams in The Savory Pantry. Our customers love the fact that they are so versatile!"
Sallie's Greatest and The Savory Girls will demonstrate the many uses for the jams, from glazing meats to creating fabulous marinades and memorable desserts. Suggested cheese pairing and recipes will be provided as well.
