LOXAHATCHEE, Fla. (CNN/WPTV) -- A Florida baby's birth will likely be one his family tells over and over again. The baby boy was a little impatient to come into the world, and ended up getting delivered on the way to the hospital.

Nancy Wegner has a special connection to her brand new grandson. She says, "It's like something you see in a movie but never think could ever happen to you."

For hours, Nancy's daughter Sarah Miller had been home with contractions. She was told by doctors they were a false alarm. Until Saturday morning. Wegner says, "'The baby's coming, the baby's coming.' And I kept saying, 'Are you sure?' 'Well, I'm not sure but I'm having really bad contractions.' So we started down Seminole Pratt Whitney"

Fifteen minutes down the road, her daughter was certain this was it. Wegner says, "She said I think I'm having the baby. And she said I think you better dial 911. So I said, are you sure? She said, 'Yes, I'm positive. I really think I'm having the baby.'"

On the road and still driving to the hospital, Nancy took instructions from 911. Wegner says, ""As she began to look to see if she sees the baby's head, the baby came out. It just literally came right out and fell onto the floor of our Ford Expedition."

Nancy says she was on the inside lane of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road headed towards Southern Boulevard when the baby arrived. And she pulled over next to the red barn in a driveway, making it the official birthplace of her new grandson. Wegner says, "So I pulled over, got out of the car, ran over to the other side, picked up my grandson who was on the floor, still connected with the umbilical cord, wrapped him in a blanket."

At seven pounds and 19.5 inches and perfectly healthy, Luke Curtis Miller had arrived. Wegner says, "To see it like that, and to be your own grandson, it's just unbelievable."

Just a day old and grandma already knows something important about baby Luke. She says, "My grandson Luke is built Ford tough."
