The fourth of July appeared to come early in West Virginia. A driver caught the display as fireworks went off in rapid-fire succession from a parking lot stand Saturday. Nobody was hurt, but it did bring traffic to a stop.
Authorities say the fire may have been started by a short in an extension cord. Charges have been filed against the stand owner for having, and intending to sell illegal fireworks.
In case you wondered, here's the reason gas stations have signs telling you not to light up as you pump. For reasons unknown, a customer in Australia did just that and paid the price.
The whole event was caught on security cameras. Another customer was able to put out the flames. Luckily, no one was hurt.
And try to get your head around this situation. This Massachusetts man apparently tried to break into a storage bay by prying open the door. But when he tried to get underneath- the door closed on his head.
And that's where he stayed for several hours until the store manager saw him and called authorities.
The alleged burglar suffered only minor injuries, but is facing charges of breaking and entering.
