LONDON (CNN) -- Over 17,000 volunteers spend their summer vacation working the Olympics. These unpaid volunteers are called Game Makers.

To save on expenses, many have pitched tents inorder to be apart of this life-time event. A community football center has turned into a campsite for many Game Makers.

Steven Large is one Game Maker who will be spending the next few weeks living out of a tent.

Large sais, "I thought it'd be exciting and it's a once in a life time opportunity. I'm interested in sport and I wanted to give something back so that's what I am doing."

Game Maker Angela Bell has made the whole campsite jealous of her tent. Bells accomidations include a small kitchen for her to enjoy some home cooking.

Bell says,"This is my summer holiday. Three weeks at matchday center. (laughs) Yaaay! It'll be fun."
