INUYAMA, Japan (CNN) - Looks like we aren't the only ones keeping warm by the fire this holiday season.
These monkeys at a zoo in central Japan are also gathering around a fire to keep the cold at bay. News station NHK reports zookeepers at the Japan Monkey Center in Inuyama make the fire every day during the winter for their 160 Japanese macaques.
The zookeepers say none of the animals are afraid of the flames. In fact, they say the monkeys lay around the fire, warming their backs. And the flames don't just keep the animals toasty.
Zookeepers also use the fire to bake sweet potatoes for the monkeys. As you can see, the treats are a big hit with the animals.
