FOIA ROAD SHOW SCHEDULED FOR TUESDAY IN LITTLE ROCK
Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, along with the Arkansas Press Association, will host an informational workshop on the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act on Tuesday, June 14, in Little Rock.
The FOIA Road Show will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law, 1201 McMath Ave. Arkansans interested in learning about the state's FOIA are encouraged to attend the free workshop.
"The Freedom of Information Act was enacted in the public interest for the benefit of the people of our state," McDaniel said. "We believe in our Office that it's important for Arkansans and our local public officials to have a comprehensive understanding of this law. That's why we're glad to join the Arkansas Press Association in hosting this workshop."
The Little Rock Road Show follows one held in Jonesboro in May. Others are scheduled for Fayetteville and Arkadelphia in the fall.
Participants will hear presentations from the Attorney General's Office about the law's applicability and its exemptions. Also scheduled are a question-and-answer sessions and a panel discussion by journalists and attorneys.
Attorneys who attend the event will be eligible to receive two hours of Continuing Legal Education credit.
