LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Anglers can fish for free this weekend as part of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's free fishing days

The annual event starts at noon Friday and runs through Sunday. No fishermen will be required to have a fishing license or a trout permit to fish anywhere in the state.

The Game and Fish Commission says it hopes to encourage Arkansans to try out fishing. The weekend's events also include youth fishing derbies at state fish hatcheries in Hot Springs, Centerton, Corning, Lonoke and Mammoth Spring.
