LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- An Arkansas man and legend in the duck hunting world was honored Thursday night at Chenal Country Club in Little Rock.
Butch Richenback received the 8th annual Jerry Jones Sportsman of the Year Award at the Ducks Unlimited Banquet. The previous winner, Steve "Wild Man" Wilson, introduced Richenback and talked about the life and legacy of a true pioneer.
Richenback, the World Champion Duck Caller in 1972, founded Rich-N-Tone Duck Calls about four years after he claimed the title. RNT Duck Calls quickly became one of the most popular businesses in the industry and it's still up and running today in Stuttgart, Arkansas.
In fact, that's where Butch continues to teach countless young people how to call ducks. Over the years, almost 45 of his pupils have followed in Richenback's footsteps by also winning world championships.
