FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (THV11) - Arkansas came back from two deficits against Missouri State but it wasn't enough Saturday night. The Razorbacks fell 5-4 to the Bears to fall into the losers bracket in the Fayetteville Regional.
Starting pitcher Blaine Knight tossed 5.1 IP allowing four earned runs with eight strikeouts. The Bears used two home runs in the 1st and 3rd inning to open a 3-1 lead. Arkansas came back to tie the ballgame in the 5th inning on a Jax Biggers groundout.
Missouri State retook the lead in the 6th on a wild pitch from Dominic Taccolini and added another. Arkansas closed the lead 5-4 in the 7th but that's as close as the Hogs would get.
Chad Spanberger drew a walk in the 9th but a Luke Bonfield strikeout and a Dominic Fletcher double play ended the Hogs hopes.
The Razorbacks will play Oral Roberts in an elimination game Sunday at 3:00.
The winner faces Missouri State in the Regional Final at 8:00.
