Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - The Detroit Tigers reinstated outfielder Delmon
Young from the restricted list on Friday, the first day he was eligible to
return from a seven-day suspension issued by Major League Baseball.
The punishment stems from his arrest last week in New York City.
Young has batted .242 in 18 games this season with a home run and five runs
batted in.
The Tigers made room for Young by designating the contract of designated
hitter Brad Eldred for assignment. Eldred went 3-for-16 in five games with the
Tigers.
