San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - Trevor Cahill tossed his second career
shutout, Miguel Montero and Gerardo Parra both hit a two-run homer and the
Diamondbacks defeated the Padres, 6-0, in the finale of a three-game series.
Cahill (3-5) allowed six hits, walked three and struck out five to earn up his
first win since May 1. He was 0-3 in his previous five starts.
Paul Goldschmidt hit his second homer in as many days for San Diego, which has
won three of four, including the last two games of this series.
Eric Stults (1-2) took the loss, giving up six runs on seven hits over 6 1/3
innings.
