UCA hires 2 assistant coaches

CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - Central Arkansas has hired two assistant football coaches.

Head coach Clint Conque announced Tuesday that Bill Best will be the offensive line coach and Dave Wheeler will coach safeties. They will replace Chris Hampton and Slade Nagle, who left the staff in the spring.

Best worked at West Texas A&M from 2006 to 2011. He was in charge of the offensive line and was offensive coordinator his final season there. The team's 2011 offense ranked second in the nation in passing with 358 yards per game and was 14th overall in total offense, with 462 yards per game.

Wheeler was a defensive assistant at Mississippi, the defensive coordinator at Arkansas Tech, an assistant at Western Illinois, Southwest Baptist and West Georgia.
