Renton, WA (Sports Network) - The Seattle Seahawks released wide receiver
Mike Williams on Friday.
Williams, the 10th overall pick of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions,
had his 2011 season cut short after landing on injured reserved with an ankle
injury December 20. He had 18 catches for 236 yards and a touchdown before the
injury.
The former USC star revived his career in 2010 after posting career highs in
catches (65), yards (751) and touchhdowns (2). Williams also set a Seattle
playoff record for receiving touchdowns with three in 2010.
Williams has 127 receptions for 1,526 yards and five touchdowns in 56 career
games.
