LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- A collision in the fourth inning at Thursday's Arkansas Travelers game ends with catcher Alberto Rosario being taken off the field in an ambulance.
According to the Travs' general manager Pete Lavin, it was when a ball was thrown in from the outfield that the collision at home plate occurred. Rosario, we're told, took the brunt of the collision.
Lavin calls it a common incident in baseball.
Immediately after the collision, medical personnel flocked to the field and Rosario was taken to UAMS for treatment. At this point, we're told he is doing well and remembers the collision.
As for when Rosario returns to the field... That will be up to trainers and doctors to decide when he is ready and able. Until then, Carlos Ramirez will be catching in his place.
