FOUNTAIN LAKE (KTHV) -- THV's Jessica Duff has a preview of a major conference 3A matchup Glen Rose versus Fountain Lake in this weeks' Showcase Game of the Week.
The Beavers have won five straight games by an average of 34 points since losing to Malvern by 3 in the season opener.
"It's been a pretty aggressive matchup each and every time. Not saying all the games are close, but it's a pretty good rivalry between both teams, they'll really get after you and play extremely hard, and we expect nothing less than that tomorrow night," says Glen Rose head coach Mark Kehner.
But luck has been Fountain Lake's side in recent history. The Cobras have 3-1 advantage over the Beavers since 2008.
"It's a huge game for us, because it's for the conference lead in the 5-3A. So our kids are excited about it and it's a chance to get a number one seed in the playoffs. So it's huge for everybody," says Fountain Lake head coach Tommy Gilleran.
It's a conference showdown Friday night and the winner could likely be the future 3-A Champs.
"That's their goal, to of course, win the conference and then have the chance to go on to win the state championship," Gilleran says.
"It's more than likely for the conference championship, it's two really good programs, two really good football teams that are going to go head to head at Fountain Lake and going to be a really good night for High School Football," says Kehner.
It's Glen Rose and Fountain Lake, winner takes all.
