FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - Arkansas Razorback linebacker Terrell Williams was arrested early Sunday
morning for driving while intoxicated. As a result, coaching staff
announced Williams has been suspended indefinitely.
According to the Washington County Detention Center, Fayetteville police pulled Williams over early this morning after he was spotted driving left of the center lane.
He was booked in the Washington Co. Detention Center at 4:07 a.m. He was released after posting bond at 10:30 Sunday morning.
Head coach John L. Smith released this statement Sunday before noon: "I am very disappointed in the decisions made by Terrell Williams. He did not represent himself or the University of Arkansas in a manner we expect. ...We have high expectations for the actions of everyone in our program on and off the field, and our student athletes will be held accountable."
Williams' court appearance is set for Dec. 14.
The Razorbacks defeated Tulsa 19-15 Saturday, November 3. Williams contributed seven tackles to the defensive performance. He has 52 on the season for the Hogs.
You may recall, defensive end Chris Smith was arrested after failing to pay a speeding ticket days before the Kentucky win last month. Smith was punished by coach John L. Smith, but was not suspended for the game.
