PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KTHV) -- The UAPB Golden Lions are in control of their own destiny. They sealed
the SWAC western division with a win over Texas Southern.
They are headed to the SWAC Championship in Birmingham, AL on December 8th. At this point we don't know who they will play but either way it will be a rematch.
The East came down to Alabama A&M, Jackson St., and Alabama State. The Golden Lions have already beaten Jackson St. and Alabama state.
UAPB's only loss in league play came at the hands of Alabama A&M. Both Jackson St. and Alabama State have both defeated Alabama A&M.
The Golden Lions are led by Quarterback Ben Anderson. The sophomore from little rock has accounted for 13 touchdowns rushing and passing on the season.
UAPB Coach Monte Coleman says Anderson should win SWAC Offensive player of the year.
