Six Hendrix College players selected for All-Southern teams

CONWAY, Ark. - The Hendrix College men's soccer team had six student-athletes selected to the All-Southern Athletic Association Teams on Monday. Senior Connor Silvestri was a first team selection, senior Dylan Reed was named to the second team, and seniors Grant Womack and Kevin Gregory and freshmen Pedro Sagone and Jacob Pierce were honorable mentions.

Silvestri, a forward from Conway, Ark., ranked third in the SAA with nine goals and 22 points to go with four assists. He ended his career as Warriors' career leader with 44 goals and 103 points. Silvestri was a 2010 All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team selection and a 2011 Second Team honoree.

Reed, a defender from Conway, Ark., anchored a defense that had a 1.02 goals against average and set a school a record eight shutouts. He also scored three goals, including two game-winners, and recorded an assist.

Womack, a midfielder from Little Rock, Ark., scored four goals, including two game-winners, and tied for the team lead with four assists.

Sagone, a midfielder from Guatemala City, Guatemala, recorded a team-high three game-winning goals. He scored four goals and tied for the lead with four assists.

Gregroy, a defender from Georgetown, Texas, also anchored the record-setting defense and served as a tri-captain with Reed and Silvestri. Gregory also recorded one assist.

Pierce, a midfielder from Fulton, Mo., scored two goals and two assists during his debut season.

Hendrix, under fifth-year head coach Doug Mello, won a program-best 10 games this season.
