LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Junction City defeats Bearden for the 2A Championship in Arkansas high school football.
As high school football in Arkansas comes to an end, this weekend War Memorial Stadium will host three state championships. Friday night's game didn't disappoint when it comes to talent and excitement.
The "hero" of the night is none other than Junction City's Dorian Evans. Evans caught a tipped "Hail Mary" pass in the end zone as time expired to give the Dragons the win.
Quarterback Shaquille Hunter tossed a
30-yard "Hail Mary" pass to Evans near the end zone. The completion ended in a touchdown, giving the Dragons a 27-26 victory over Bearden.
This is the fourth state title for Junction City head coach David Carpenter. It's the first title, though, since winning back-to-back championships in 2008 and 2009.
