JONESBORO, Ark. (12/17/12) - The Arkansas State women's bowling team was ranked seventh in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association Poll.
The Red Wolves (24-13) received 448 points, which was only four points behind No. 6 Nebraska's 452 points. Central Missouri received 683 points and 16 first-place votes to jump to No. 1 after their 41-5 record to start the season. Defending NCAA champion Maryland-Eastern Shore was No. 2, followed by Vanderbilt, Sam Houston State, and Fairleigh Dickinson to round out the top five.
Arkansas State has competed in three tournaments so far this season. The Red Wolves finished in second place at the Tulane Collegiate Invitational and the Valparaiso Crusader Classic before placing fourth at the Sam Houston State Kat Klash in their last tournament.
Sophomore Sarah Lokker has made two all-tournament teams on the season, while senior Melissa Lachanski, junior Ashley Rucker, and junior Amanda Labossiere have made an all-tournament team once.
The Red Wolves are back in action after the holiday season Jan. 11-13 when they host the Mid-Winter Invitational in Jonesboro.
