RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. - After leading the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys to a double overtime victory over Midwestern State on the road, Junior Bobby Hatchett was named the Great American Conference men's player of the week for his performance in week six, announced by the conference today.
Hatchett scored a career-high 22 points on the road against a team who had previously won 19 home games in a row to gather his first GAC Men's Player of the Week honor.
Tech beat Midwestern State 75-73 in a double overtime thriller to give the Wonder Boys their fourth win of the season and the team's first player of the week award.
Hatchett is playing in his first season at Tech and managed to pull down four rebounds, dish out three assists, and grab three steals against Midwestern State. He stood out from the free-throw line making 14 of 18.
The Wonder Boys will play at home on December 19th against Mid-America Christian at 4:00 p.m.
