Kent State wants to finish a breakout season in style. It's the first time the Golden Flashes have been to a bowl game in 40 years and they've already set a school record for wins in a season. Arkansas State - which has won back-to-back Sun Belt championships - gets a second chance in the GoDaddy.com Bowl after losing last season to Northern Illinois.
Arkansas State QB Ryan Aplin against the Kent State defense: Aplin owns nearly every passing record in Arkansas State history after throwing for 10,545 yards and 66 touchdowns in his four seasons. His final game will be against a Kent State defense that has forced 38 turnovers this season, which is the most in the Football Bowl Subdivision. They're also first in the country with a plus-21 turnover margin.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Kent State: Junior RB Dri Archer has been the Golden Flashes' primary playmaker, rushing for a team-high 1,352 yards and 15 touchdowns this season. The 5-foot-8, 175-pounder is also tops on the team with 35 catches for 539 yards and four touchdowns.
Arkansas State: Junior RB David Oku has had a productive season after transferring from Tennessee, rushing for 1,054 yards and 15 touchdowns. He has been the Red Wolves' workhorse, averaging nearly 20 carries per game.

Arkansas State takes a seven-game winning streak into the GoDaddy.com Bowl. The Red Wolves haven't lost since Sept. 29 against Western Kentucky. ... Defensive coordinator John Thompson will serve as the Red Wolves' interim coach after Gus Malzahn left to take the Auburn job last month. Arkansas State hired Bryan Harsin to replace Malzahn, and the former Boise State and Texas offensive coordinator will take over after the bowl game. ... Arkansas State has a 6-13 record against current programs in the Mid-American Conference. ... This will be Darrell Hazell's final game as the head coach at Kent State. He was hired last month at Purdue and will take over the Boilermakers full time after Sunday's game. ... Kent State left tackle Brian Winters will be making his school-record 50th career start. He was the only player from the MAC selected to play in the Senior Bowl.
