    Wonder Boys debut at seventh in NCAA region poll

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (UCA) -- The first regional poll of the 2012-13 season has been released, and the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys are ranked seventh, the NCAA announced Wednesday.

    The top eight teams in the region, including automatic bids, will earn a berth to the NCAA Tournament. The Wonder Boys are one of two teams in the Great American Conference ranked in the poll, as Harding is ranked fifth. Teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) and the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) are also considered for the Central Region poll.

    At 14-8 overall, the Wonder Boys have a 13-8 record in region games. Arkansas Tech is scheduled to play four more regular-season games prior to the GAC tournament in Bartlesville, Okla., March 7-10.
    The Wonder Boys will return to action on Thursday, Feb. 21, hosting Arkansas-Monticello at Tucker Coliseum. A 7:30 p.m. tip is scheduled.
