Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - The Orlando Magic acquired much-traveled
forward Hakim Warrick from the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for center Josh
McRoberts.
The deal came down just before the NBA trade deadline on Thursday.
The Magic were busy at the deadline, also sending guards J.J. Redick, Ish
Smith and big man Gustavo Ayon to the Milwaukee Bucks for Beno Udrih, Doron
Lamb and Tobias Harris in the day's biggest move.
Warrick was traded for the second time this season, having previously gone
from the New Orleans Hornets to the Bobcats for Matt Carroll. Warrick played
in 27 games for Charlotte and one for the Hornets this season. He averaged 6.9
points and 3.2 rebounds per game.
The Magic will be Warrick's seventh different NBA team in eight years in the
league. For his career, he averages 9.4 ppg and 4.0 rpg.
McRoberts will join his fifth different squad in five years as a pro. He
played in 41 games for the Magic this season and posted averages of 3.9 points
and 3.3 rebounds.
