RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (ATU) - On the heels of a monster week where he hit .571 with five home runs and 16 RBI, Arkansas Tech senior Jonathan Finnegan has been selected as the D2BaseballNews.com Division II National Player of the Week.

Finnegan helped Arkansas Tech (13-5) to a 4-1 record for the week, topping GAC foe Henderson State in a non-conference matchup and taking three out of four from Quincy, the Great Lakes Valley Conference-West Division preseason favorite.

Against Henderson, Finnegan went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, hitting a triple and a home run. After smashing a homer in Tech's series-opening win against Quincy, he doubled in Tech's lone loss of the week. However, Finnegan saved his best work of the week for Sunday, going 3-for-3 with two homers and eight RBIs in the opening game of the day, and homered again as part of a 1-for-3 effort with two RBIs in the nightcap.

The Wonder Boys return to action this weekend with a three-game set at East Central. First pitch from Ada, Okla. is set for 2 p.m. Friday.
