    Sun Belt Women's basketball conference tournament set

    NEW ORLEANS, La. (SUN BELT) - The Sun Belt Conference released its schedule and seeding order for the 2013 Sun Belt Women's Basketball Championships on Saturday.

    Top seeds and divisional champions Middle Tennessee and UALR highlight the field of 11 teams for the championship that will be held March 8-11 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. By virtue of its 17-3 record, Middle Tennessee earned the No. 1 seed and also earned the Sun Belt Conference Regular Season Championship.

    UALR and MT along with Arkansas State, FIU and WKU earned byes into the quarterfinals of the tournament championship. The first round and the quarterfinals of the championship will take place March 8 and 9 with the league utilizing a two court system as games will be played in Summit Arena and the Convention Center Court. The semifinals and championship game will be played exclusively in Summit Arena.

    The first round games can be viewed exclusively on www.sunbeltsports.org as the Sun Belt Digital Network will webcast those games. The quarterfinal games taking place in Summit Arena will be aired on the Sun Belt Network, while the Convention Center Court quarterfinals will be shown on Sun Belt Digital Network. Both semifinal matchups will be aired on the Sun Belt Network with the championship match being broadcast nationally on ESPNU at 1 p.m. CT.

    ^ - Arkansas State defeated FIU twice this season and therefore earns the No. 4 seed in the tournament.

    ^^ - North Texas and South Alabama split their season series. Both teams were then defeated twice each by No. 1 seed Middle Tennessee. North Texas split its series with No. 2 seed UALR, while USA dropped both games to UALR, therefore North Texas is awarded the No. 6 seed.

    ^^^ - Troy and Louisiana-Lafayette split their season series. Troy split with No. 1 seed Middle Tennessee while Louisiana-Lafayette dropped both games to the top seed, therefore Troy earns the No. 10 seed in the tournament.
